We came in to the breed in 1998 after getting our first Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier. We took up showing in 2003 with Dylan and achieved considerable success. Evie joined us in 2005 and became the foundation bitch of the Silkcroft Kennel.
Our first litter was born in 2008. Out of this litter was born Libby who went on to be very successful achieving a Best Puppy in Show at a General Championship Show, the first and only ever wheaten to achieve this award and she has also become the joint record holder for total number of Best Puppy in Breed wins at championship shows with CCs. She is also one of a small number of SCWT puppies to have achieved RCCs out of puppy classes.
In 2008 Cheryl was co-opted on the committee of the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of GB and in 2009 was voted on and became Health Officer.
2010 saw our second home bred litter of puppies come and go, with Millie joining the pack. Silkcroft Kennel also became registered as Assured Breeders with the UK Kennel Club.
Through this website we hope to be able to communicate news of show results and future litters due.
Enquiries, whether about future litters, stud or just general wheaten topics are always welcome from prospective puppy owners and fellow breeders alike. Our contact email is below or click here.
All our adults are hip scored, eye tested, blood tested annually and urine tested before they are bred. All our puppies are blood tested and eye tested before they leave us.
